Thinking [on] poetry: the cinematographic language in the selfreflection about poetry in “Blind light” by Marília Garcia

This article seeks to analyze and discuss the interfaces that Marília Garcia’s lyric establishes with cinematographic language, especially the approaches established cinematographic montage. For this, the article proposes a reading of the poem “Blind light” from the book Um teste de resistores (2014), a text that starts from the poet’s considerations on the film Pierrot le fou (1965) by Jean-Luc Godard. Based on the metalepses that Marília Garcia observes in the film, the poem promotes a metalinguistic reflection on the functioning of poetic language. These reflections are explored and discussed in this article, in order to elaborate the use that Marília Garcia’s poetry makes of images as a way of thinking about poetry itself.
