This article discusses the book O mundo mutilado by the poet Prisca Agustoni, published in 2020 by Editora Quelônio. Taking the poems in their testimonial character, in which the voices of refugees are woven between the verses, a reflection on poetry and Human Rights is established, which makes use of Benjamin’s contributions, among others. From a brief discussion of the epigraph, widely used by the poet in her book, as a guide, as a testimony, a critical proposition is established that, in the sequence of the text, is in line with the discussion of the poems. In this regard, it is worth mentioning that the intention is to contribute to studies of literature and testimony at the same time that the value of the epigraph is re-proposed, in poetic terms, from the point of view of testimonial instance.
