The Brazilian Concrete avant-garde, which began in the modernity of the 1950’s, salvaged for the national culture an important literary reference. Mallarmé was an influence for the Concrete Poetry and the source of new discoveries, such as those that lead both to the verbivocovisual poems and to the innovative work of Ferreira Gullar, who experiments with the boundaries of poetry in his poem O formigueiro.
