Mallarmé’s correspondence is an important source of research into his work. His critical fortune developed and deepened especially after the publication of his letters, making them a definitive reference to understand his texts. In them we can follow, step by step, the discovery of personal and literary issues that led him to plan and develop a work that, as we know today, defined part of modern art.
