The study constitutes an approach to the Romance San Gabriel, belonging to the book Romancero Gitano (1928) by Federico García Lorca. Aesthetic, religious and cultural elements present in the construction of the piece are addressed, by virtue of the poetics of Garcia Lorca. It highlights a poetic sum between historical and aesthetic features of the three Abrahamic religions that lead to the interpretation of the poem as a continuum of meaning embedded in the gypsy heritage: Saint Gabriel is the herald of the divine will under whose weight the joy, the pain and resistance of this historically oppressed people.
