Colliteration in full rhymes of personecontos, by Bith

Abstract

The article analyzes the rhymes constitution of Personecontos (2004), by Bith (Wilberth Salgueiro), based on the reiterative-accentual criteria according to Rogério Chociay (1974). It is presented an analytical protocol, and its resulted quantitative overview


of approximate and full rhymes. Then, of the last ones, it concentrates on those containing colliteration: the diminished rhymes. This subtype adds up to 21 pairs, shares reiterative unpredictability and challenges reader-analysts to identify it when combined with other deviations of the full rhyme spectrum (metathesis, surplus phoneme, etc.) and/or with accentual asymmetry. It demonstrates a purposeful friction between classification thresholds in the poet’s rhyming exercise.
